The winners of the Canadian New Media Awards were announced Monday night at a Toronto gala dubbed ‘Nerds Night Out.’ The locally-based mobile media outfit MyThum Interactive was named company of the year, while Vancouver’s Hothead Games received the award for most promising new company of the year. As well, Ryerson president Sheldon Levy won a special recognition award for his support of interactive digital media at the university.
The awards, which honour excellence in online, interactive, animation and gaming categories, were selected by a 127-member jury made up of industry peers and educational faculty.
