104.5 CHUM FM’s Beat the Bank contest is launching again today, Tuesday, September 4 – and this year listeners will be able to get in on a Friday bonus round by texting the word ‘money’ to 1045FM during the 8 am hour. Bonus rounds from Monday through Thursday will be played only by online entrants.

The contest, well-known to Toronto listeners, invites contestants to open an on-air vault. Then the player has to decide whether to quit and take what money’s there or move on to the next vault and risk losing it all by revealing the dreaded bank alarm.

The morning show airs weekdays from 5:30-9 am. Listeners can call in weekdays at exactly 7 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm and 6 pm, wait for the cue to call, and be the 25th caller in order to play Beat the Bank. Online users must become a member of the CHUM FM Club at CHUMFM.com, and then the morning show hosts may call ’em up for a chance to play.
