Chatelaine drives healthy-living microsite

The new site is the cornerstone of a health initiative with presenting sponsors So Good soy beverages and the Canadian Diabetes Association.

A new initiative called Chatelaine Walks: 3 Steps to Feeling Good, driven by Chatelaine magazine and presenting sponsors So Good soy beverages and the Canadian Diabetes Association, is educating Canadians on healthy living using an interactive microsite that launched earlier this week.

Hoping to harness the credibility of Chatelaine‘s health content, the site features articles by health experts, an online walking log, a calorie calculator, healthy meal plans, quizzes and community forums. Also on the site is the So Good Lifestyle Tracker, which provides users with positive feedback in order to make lifestyle changes.

The initiative is being promoted online at Chatelaine.com and Chatelaine.qc.ca, as well as in the monthly Chatelaine Walks newsletter and Calorie Counter booklet. So Good is using on-pack and print ads, a recipe and coupon booklet in a direct-to-home newspaper polybag to 400,000 homes and its newly launched site to spread the word. The Canadian Diabetes Association is noting the initiative in its monthly e-newsletter, website, quarterly magazine and direct mail.

The initiative stems from the successful Chatelaine Walking Club community, which has over 65,000 active participants that offer community support and tools with which to facilitate healthy changes.

Media buys were handled by Hallam Media.
