Toronto’s GlassBox Television is launching the new cross-platform channel Aux and a two-hour Aux programming block for music buffs aged 18 to 34.
The programming block, which airs Mondays at 9 pm on GlassBox’s multiplatform Bite TV channel starting Nov. 24, offers consumers a mix of music content including videos, live performances, artist interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. A website will launch with the programming block, with mobile, VOD, podcasts and conventional TV features soon to follow. GlassBOX Television has also applied for a category 2 specialty television license for the service.
Aux ad offerings include custom production work for advertisers, such as product integration, contests and sponsorship opps.
To promote the new music offering, a year of full-page monthly ads in Exclaim! magazine begins this month. Exclaim! is also a presenting partner, along with Rogers, for the Aux Giveaway, that has participants vying for monthly prizes including a MacBook, from November to January. A thousand entries have already been registered. In January, Aux will hold a concert featuring high-profile bands.
