W Network’s new Stuck series, a docu-soap targeting the 25-to-54 female demo, premieres Mar. 4 at 10 pm ET (around the corner from International Women’s Day that Sunday). The 13 half-hour eps cover seven women aged 23 to 52, each ‘stuck’ in situations as diverse as the women themselves, as they pursue fitness goals as symbols of their desire to reclaim their lives.
The series, produced in association with Toronto-based 52 Media, spans the real and personal struggles often faced by women, from yo-yo diets to self-confidence issues. Exec producer David York (Air India 182) says the series is shot over five months to allow the capture of real-life change. ‘We are taking themes and story lines familiar to reality and lifestyle programming – but we dig far more deeply into the lives of our characters and their individual circumstances,’ he explains. On-air and web sponsorship ops are still up for grabs.
