The Magazine Network Online has added Tribe.ca to its list of 22 websites targeting the urban, 18-to-44 demographic. The Magazine Network is a media rep house handling weekly publications such as Ottawa’s Express, Montreal’s Hour and Voir and Vancouver’s WE, and recently launched the Magazine Network Online, which handles national ad sales for member websites.
Tribe is a forum community that receives 200,000 unique monthly visitors, according to Google Analytics, primarily in the 20-to-34 demo, evenly split between males and females and mainly from the Greater Toronto Area. Tribe grew out of Toronto’s rave scene in 1994, but no longer produces a print version, and is now an urban lifestyle and culture website.
‘One of the things that we were missing in our network was a Toronto publication,’ explains Jan Frolic, president of the Magazine Network. ‘Now when media planners are strategizing, they can come to us for online and print.’ Companies that have advertised through the network include Garnier, Smirnoff, Heineken, Kraft, Chrysler, Labatt’s, Nokia and Virgin Mobile.
