Corus Entertainment has announced two world premieres and an all-day dance marathon as part of its June programming for W Network, Viva and Cosmopolitan TV.
Beginning Sunday, June 21 at 7 pm, W Network is premiering The Ultimate W Expert Challenge. The show pits seven finalists from W’s online Expert Challenge contest against each other in a competition to become the next W Network expert. The series consists of three hour-long episodes, in which the contestants will judged on their food, design, style, finance and personal development skills by a panel of W Network personalities, such as Candace Olsen from Divine Design and Hina Khan and Dylan Marcel from Save Us From Our House!. The winner will receive a development deal with W Network, which targets the 25-to-54 female demo. Sponsorship opps are also available on the show and include 10-second tags on tune-in spots where brands can be positioned as ‘experts’ in their category, and communicate the brands’ key features and benefits.
Viva, which targets females 35 to 64, is launching a world premiere of its own. Tosca: Flexing at 49 debuts Saturday, June 6 at 7 pm. The eight-episode half-hour docu-series follows the life of 49-year-old Canadian fitness model Tosca Reno as she prepares for the final bodybuilding competition of her career. Toronto-based Up Front Entertainment produced the series in association with Viva.
At the younger end of the demo spectrum – 18 to 34 – on Monday, June 22, Cosmopolitan TV is getting its dancing shoes on for a ten-hour marathon of Step It Up & Dance. From 10 am to 8 pm viewers can follow the action as 12 professional dancers attempt to master a variety of styles while competing for the final call-back and the $100,000 cash prize. The marathon consists of 10 back-to-back hour-long episodes.
