Mercy coming sooner for Citytv

Another newbie, The T.O. Show, hits the grid this Sunday.

Citytv has picked up The T.O. Show from VH1 and pushed the medical drama Mercy from mid-season to the fall, following the lead of NBC.

The T.O. Show, starring NFLer Terrell Owens, will follow the athlete as he makes the transition from the Dallas Cowboys to the Buffalo Bills. The always-outspoken wide receiver will be joined on air by his publicists Monique Jackson and Kita Williams. The reality show debuted earlier this month in the US. It bows on Citytv on Aug. 2.

NBC’s Mercy, originally set for mid-season, has swapped places with Parenthood, following word that star Maura Tierney has been diagnosed with cancer. Mercy will air in simulcast starting Sept. 23. The hour-long drama follows the lives of hospital patients, through the perspective of the nurses.
