Aeroplan soars in Toronto: Media Monitors radio rankings March 29 to April 4, 2010

While AlarmForce cracks #1 in Montreal, there's a lot of mobility in the Toronto market.

Aeroplan has landed at the top of the radio buys chart in Toronto, according to spending rankings for the week of March 29 to April 4, 2010.

The airline rewards program parachuted from nowhere, making its grand entry at #1 the highest debut of the week.

In general, it was a strong week for newcomers, with nine of the top 10 making huge leaps. Sears bolted up 29 positions to #2; Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram motored up 31 slots to park in #3; Itravel2000 travelled a whopping 76 steps to #4. Koodo Mobile was the only holdover, slipping from #4 last week to #5.

Lowe’s leaped 21 positions to #6, Canadian Tire rolled down 82 to #10, and The Brick, CAMH and the Liquor Board of Ontario came in at #7, #8 and #9 respectively.

Things were a little quieter on the Montreal front. AlarmForce reclaimed its #1 position, with Desjardins General Insurance and The Home Depot also inching up #3 to #2 and #4 to #3 respectively.

Canadian Tire burned up 74 positions to #4 with Corbeil Appliances ringing in a #5 debut. Le SuperClub Videotron debuted at #8 and Scotiabank moved up five slots to #9.
