Reality series The Hills went out on a high note on MTV Canada as Tuesday’s final episode attracted record-breaking audiences to the specialty.
MTV says nearly half a million viewers tuned in to the buzzed-about series ender at 8 p.m., which ranked first in the 18-to-34 demographic on Canadian specialties, excluding sports channels. (All numbers 2+.)
The episode poked fun at fans and critics who have questioned the semi-scripted nature of the hit series, by revealing that Kristin Cavallari and Brody Jenner’s goodbye scene was actually shot on a backlot in Hollywood. It insinuated that the coming-of-age stories were never real as they appeared.
Meanwhile, the season two ender of The City nabbed a series high 365,000 viewers following The Hills, while The After Show averaged 299,000 viewers.
