Sweetspot.ca to launch Quebec property

Presenting sponsor Aquafresh is partnering up with Sweetspot to launch the French-language content for two new Sweetspot Quebec properties, Art de Vivre and Maman.

Sweetspot.ca will soon be offering their particular brand of cutesy culture content in French with a new property launching in Quebec, SweetspotQC.ca.

Created by editors and writers based in Quebec City and Montreal, original service-style articles and product picks published in the Sweetspot tone that the Rogers web publisher is known for will be developed specifically for the French-language market across two channels: Art de Vivre (Sweetlife) and Maman (Sweetmama), says Maya Meyouhas, general manager, SweetspotQC.ca.

Launching on Sept. 8 with presenting sponsor Aquafresh (owned by GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare), in a media buy arranged by MediaVest, the new site was a response to both advertiser and reader demand to cater to the Francophone market, explains Meyouhas. The new website will also run three newsletters per channel per week.

‘Our national clients that have wanted a French solution will now be able to do everything with us,’ says Jennifer Price, director, sales and business development for Sweetspot.ca. ‘If somebody wants to create a guide or a sponsored piece of editorial in English and they want the same in French, then our team will be able to adapt it and vice versa,’ she tells MiC.

The Aquafresh sponsorship is an example of an execution that will span English and French Canada, including a ‘Fresh Perspectives’ section that covers new looks for fall and a ‘favourite moments of youth’ column in the lifestyle section, explains Price.

The new website will be promoted in a campaign that includes print, OOH, and digital media, developed by Meyouhas. A special VIP launch party will also take place on Sept. 21 and the team has been promoting the new site via Facebook and Twitter.
