Sears took top spot this week, jumping up from fourth spot the week before, in the Media Monitors radio ad buy rankings for the week of Sept. 27 to Oct. 3. Petro-Canada, which took top spot for the previous two weeks, fell to #2. CBC-TV went from #15 to #3.
Along with CBC-TV, the biggest mover of the week was American Express, which jumped from #47 to #5.
In Montreal, the Gouvernement du Quebec was #1 for the second straight week. AlarmForce rose from #3 to #2 and The Home Depot jumped from #33 to #3. Other newcomers to the week’s top 10 included Ford Lincoln Mercury, Metro Supermarket and Sports Experts, at #4, #5 and #8, respectively.
