CFL just keeps converting for TSN

The sports network broke records with its playoff coverage over the weekend, with more than 7.2 million people tuning in for at least part of the game.

TSN is reporting that the opening weekend of the CFL playoffs, which featured a West Coast matchup between BC and Saskatchewan, delivered a record average audience of 2 million viewers (source: BBM, 2+). Audience numbers peaked at a weighty 3.3 million viewers when the game went into overtime.

Out East, numbers were more tame but still respectable, with Toronto at Hamilton drawing an average of 1.1 million viewers. The audience peaked at 2 million late in the game as Toronto wrapped things up with a late-game interception.

TSN says more than 7.2 million viewers tuned in to at least some part of the Sunday playoffs, with 30,000 more viewers watching the games online at TSN.ca.

Eastern finals are this weekend with a Toronto-Montreal match, followed by a run-in between Saskatchewan and Calgary. Finals are set for Sunday, November 28, beginning at 1 p.m.
