Ivers named president of Highway

The former Canwest exec has been promoted from EVP to head honcho of Toronto-based Highway Entertainment.

Adam Ivers has been named the new president and CEO of Highway Entertainment, a division of Omnicom Media Group.

Ivers replaces Brian Ross at the Toronto-based agency, which handles broadcast-related opportunities for Omnicom agencies OMD and PHD in North America. Ross is leaving the Toronto office of Highway to be closer to his family in Los Angeles, but will continue in a consulting role with the agency.

Ivers, a former Canwest broadcasting VP, has been with Highway since 2007. At Canwest, Ivers was responsible for foreign content acquisitions and programming. Programming acquisitions Ivers is credited with include House, 24, Prison Break and the Super Bowl. He has also worked with IMG and TSN.

‘Adam’s experience in broadcast programming, entrepreneurial approach to deal making and his innate skill for working collaboratively, has resulted in both company growth and new ways of delivering value for our clients in a rapidly evolving industry,’ Page Thompson, CEO Omnicom Media Group North America, said in a release.
