Big Bang lights up #1: BBM Canada, Jan 17 to 23, 2011

The sitcom tops Idol by 300,000 viewers in this week's BBM Canada ratings.

Here are the top-ranked shows in Canada (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM, for Jan. 17 to 23, 2011:

Monday: House at 8 p.m. on Global makes a return to its once-dominant position on Monday night with 2.878 million viewers. Last week, CTV Evening News won the night with 1.967 million viewers.

Tuesday: Procedural drama NCIS on Global at 8 p.m. took Tuesday night with 2.347 million viewers, handily beating its sister show, NCIS: Los Angeles, at 9 p.m., with 1.989 million viewers.

Wednesday: American Idol on CTV at 8 p.m. sang its way to #1 on the night, and #2 overall, with 2.878 million viewers. Last week, CBC’s Dragons’ Den won the night with 2.182 million viewers.

Thursday: The week’s big winner, The Big Bang Theory on CTV at 8 p.m., brought in 3.189 million sets of eyeballs, increasing its previous week’s performance by over 600,000 viewers.

Friday: As it was last week, CTV Evening News on CTV at 6 p.m. took first place on Friday, bringing in 1.894 million viewers.

Saturday: CBC was the big winner on Saturday – as per usual in the winter – with Hockey Night in Canada Game #1 at 7 p.m. scoring 2.028 million viewers.

Sunday: Sunday night, however, belonged to the NFL divisional playoffs on CTV at 6:30 p.m., bringing in 2.121 million viewers.
