At long last, HGTV is now available in high definition to Canadians.
The home decor, renovation and lifestyle channel debuted on Canadian cable in HD yesterday, offering up a crisper version of its usual fare to 25- to 54-year-olds.
To promote the new channel to the HDTV-owning public, Shaw Media is running themed weekend programming marathons, including House Hunters International on Feb. 6, Property Virgins on Feb. 13, and House of Bryan on Feb. 21.
HGTV is currently being promoted with an in-market campaign featuring the tagline, ‘It’s a big winter on HGTV.’
