American Idol tops the charts: BBM Canada, Jan. 24 to 30, 2011

The singing competition beats out the NHL All-Star Skills Competition for the #1 spot.

Here are the top-ranked shows in Canada (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM, for Jan. 24 to 30, 2011:

Monday: House at 8 p.m. on Global held on to the night’s top spot with 1.929 million viewers, a drop from the previous week’s 2.878 million. Second on the night was Castle with 1.848 million viewers.

Tuesday: CTV Evening News at 6 p.m. took the night with 1.744 million viewers, followed by Flashpoint, which snagged 1.584 million.

Wednesday: American Idol on CTV at 8 p.m. was the most popular show of both the night and the week with 3.103 million viewers. The previous week it was #2 on the week with 2.878 million viewers.

Thursday: The Big Bang Theory on CTV at 8 p.m. was the top show on last week’s list but dropped to #4 this week with 2.315 million viewers. $#*! My Dad Says was the #2 Thursday show with 1.880 million viewers.

Friday: For the third straight week, CTV Evening News at 6 p.m. won Friday night. 1.744 million people tuned in. The NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft on TSN was second on the night with 1.489 million viewers.

Saturday: The NHL All-Star Skills Competition on CBC at 7 p.m. had 2.446 million viewers, enough to take the top spot for the night and #2 on the week.

Sunday: The NHL All-Star Game on CBC at 4 p.m. was #3 on the week with 2.389 million viewers. The next most-watched show on Sunday was the Screen Actors Guild Awards, with 1.309 million viewers.
