Aegis Media appoints Annette Warring as new COO

An exec shuffle announced today will also affect Carat Toronto and Vizeum Toronto.

Annette Warring has been appointed the new chief operating officer of Aegis Media Canada, the agency announced today.

Warring, who formerly served as COO of Vizeum Canada working with clients such as the Toronto Star, Suzuki Canada and Heinz, is expected to build client relationships and draw on Aegis’s local and global resources, according to a release.

Other appointments include Caroline Gianias, new EVP, trading and communication activation. Gianias will manage business related to Aegis trading in Canada, fostering strategic alliances and multi-platform opportunities across all media ownership groups.

Aegis also owns Carat, OOH agency Posterscope, digital marketing specialists Isobar, SEM agency iProspect and the latest national brand, Aegis Media Deep Blue.
Launched last year, Deep Blue’s role is to find new ways to attract new customers for the agency’s retail and consumer packaged goods brands. Lisa Hudson has been promoted to managing director of Deep Blue.

Vizeum Toronto will now be headed by Michael Bispo, who was promoted to SVP, managing director. Meanwhile, Alastair Taylor, who comes from Carat UK, will lead Carat Toronto as VP, managing director.

‘We, as an industry, need to be more focused on our clients’ needs. We need to be working to their agenda and consistently asking ourselves how we can enhance their ability to meet objectives,’ Warring says, in a release about the changes.

Warring will be working with Sasha Grujicic, who earlier this year was appointed SVP, group strategy, Aegis Media Canada.
