Shaw family builds up Corus Entertainment stake

The family purchased additional class B non-voting shares in the mediaco late last week.

Calgary’s Shaw family were busy investors on the Toronto Stock Exchange last week after Corus Entertainment unveiled the family continues to build up its controlling stake.

The broadcaster on Monday said the Shaw family last week bought an additional 250,000 class B non-voting shares in Corus Entertainment.

The stock purchase follows the Shaw family last week also acquiring just over one million non-voting shares in Shaw Communications, which they also control, to hold around 51.5 million shares.

The Shaws now hold just over 7.7 million voting and non-voting shares in Corus Entertainment.
