Newly elected government spends on radio: Media Monitors, May 2 to 8

The Government of Canada topped the charts in Montreal and placed second in Toronto, where Public Mobile held on to the #1 spot.

Public Mobile held on to the top spot in Toronto’s Media Monitors radio ad buy rankings for the week of May 2 to 8, 2011. This is despite the fact that the newly elected Government of Canada was hot on the heels of the wireless carrier, debuting on the rankings in the #2 spot. The BlackCreek Summer Music Festival jumped more than 70 spots, landing at #3 on the chart.

In Montreal, the Government of Canada debuted on the ranks in the #1 spot. It is followed by The Cooperators, which held on at #2, and AlarmForce, which moved up two spots to #3.

The other big mover of the week was Sports Experts, which this week was one of the sports shops acquired by Canadian Tire from the Foranzi Group in an effort by the retailer to reach a younger demo. Sports Experts debuted on the radio ad buy rankings at #9.
