Big Bang Theory steps up: BBM Canada, May 16 – May 22, 2011

The Big Bang Theory takes the number one spot for the week while the NHL Playoffs record a four-night win.

Monday: Reality series Dancing with the Stars‘ performance show on CTV at 8 p.m. rose to the top spot for the evening with 2.457 million viewers, while House on Global at 8 p.m. sat at #2 with 2.104 million.

Tuesday: NCIS: Los Angeles on Global at 9 p.m. with 2.230 million viewers, up from 1.764 million viewers the previous week, took the #1 spot for Tuesday night viewing. Celebrity salsa watching was another favourite for the night, as the Dancing with the Stars results show on CTV at 8:59 p.m. took second place with 1.845 million viewers.

Wednesday:
Hockey had its first win of the week, with the NHL Playoffs Round 3 on CBC at 9 p.m. getting 2.948 million viewers. American Idol on CTV at 8 p.m. sat just below it at #2 with 2.561 million viewers.

Thursday:
The week’s most watched show, Big Bang Theory on CTV at 8 p.m. took the genius crowd to the #1 spot with 3.448 million viewers, a jump from the previous week’s viewership of 2.936 million viewers. The Mentalist on CTV at 9 p.m. with 2.537 million viewers sat at #2 for the second consecutive week.

Friday: NHL Playoffs Round 3 on CBC at 9 p.m. charged to the top with 2.948 million viewers, while CTV Evening News on CTV at 6 p.m. landed the #2 spot for the night with 1.493 million viewers.

Saturday:
Hockey ruled with a third win for the week as NHL Playoffs Round 3 on TSN at 8 p.m. scored 1.472 million viewers. CTV National News on CTV at 11 p.m. held its own at second place with 1.395 million viewers for the night.

Sunday:
How about some more hockey? The NHL Playoffs Round 3 on CBC at 9 p.m. scored at the fourth win for the week with 2.948 million viewers, while the Billboard Music Awards on CTV at 8 p.m. sat below at #2 with 1.481 million viewers.
