CBC kicks off premiere week strong

The premieres of Marketplace and Mr. D both posted over one million viewers to start the pubcaster's winter season.

The CBC has been posting strong numbers to start its 2012 winter season.

CBC’s Marketplace marked its most-watched episode in a decade with its premiere last Friday at 8 p.m. on CBC. The show brought in 1.4 million (2+) viewers, according to BBM Canada numbers provided by the CBC, for the episode which ranked Canada’s national chain stores according to which are the worst at keeping customers happy. The show also airs Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. on CBC News Network.

The Monday premiere of the Gerry Dee-starring comedy Mr. D at 8 p.m. earned 1.23 million viewers (2+), according to BBM Canada numbers from the CBC.

Little Mosque on the Prairie kicked off its final season at 8:30 p.m. on Monday to the tune of 622,000 (2+) viewers.

Also premiering on Monday was Dragons’ Den‘s Kevin O’Leary’s new show Redemption Inc. at 9 p.m., bringing in 789,000 viewers (2+).
