NBC announced Thursday afternoon that it is pulling Animal Practice from its schedule, keeping it on the air in its Wednesday time slot at 8 p.m. until Nov. 7.
The show airs in Canada on Global TV, with a Shaw Media spokesperson saying it has no dedicated timeslot on the channel. This week it aired on Thursday night at 9 p.m. while Glee is on hiatus. The singing show returns Thursday Nov. 8 with a new episode.
Animal Practice is the second freshman show to get cut from the fall TV schedule so far this year. First off the schedule was CBS’s Made in Jersey. In Canada, the show aired Friday nights at 9 p.m. on Global, and was replaced with an encore presentation of Bones, which launched its new season Monday Sept. 17 at 8 p.m.
New shows to be confirmed for a full season include NBC’s new J.J. Abrams drama Revolution (Monday nights on Citytv at 10 p.m.), Matthew Perry-starring comedy Go On (Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on Global) and family-centric laugher The New Normal (Tuesday nights at 9:30 p.m. on CTV). Charlie Sheen’s new comedy, Anger Management (Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on CTV) also received an early order for 90 episodes from its producer, FX.
