City greenlights Only In Montreal

The local weekly series for the City Montreal lineup will showcase the city's events, places and people.

City and Montreal’s Whalley-Abbey Media have greenlit local weekly series Only In Montreal, currently in production in the Quebec city.

Hosted by Montreal natives Matt Silver, Tamy Emma Pepin and Dimitrios Koussioulas, the series will showcase the city’s events, places and people, like the inner workings of a Montreal food truck or a profile of the city’s roller derby queen.

“Building on our solid schedule of local programming on City stations across the country, this new series will reflect the diversity of Montreal’s cultural landscape and explore the people and places that make up the soul of this city,” said Rogers Media president of broadcast Scott Moore in a statement.

“Montreal is home to world-renowned people, cultural sites and culinary trends. Only In Montreal invites viewers to experience this vibrant city in a fresh and unique way,” said Rogers director of original programming Claire Freeland in her own statement.

Only In Montreal joins previously announced Connected Montreal and a local version of Breakfast Television on the City Montreal lineup.

Rogers Media received CRTC approval last December to convert English-language Métro14 Montréal into City Montreal, which debuted on Feb. 4.

Only In Montreal is slated to debut on City Montreal this summer.
