Toronto’s Festival of Beer teams with Hailo

The festival's Les Murray talks about the partnership, which includes on-site advertising for the taxi service and a contest that offers $20 off a cab ride.

Toronto’s Festival of Beer has teamed with Hailo, the mobile app-based taxi cab hailing service, to make sure festival-goers get home responsibly.

As part of the new partnership, Hailo will have advertising on-site at the festival, and will also give anyone who downloads its app $10 off their first ride. Additionally, Hailo has also teamed with some of the festival’s restaurant partners for a contest that offers consumers an opportunity to win free tickets to the festival and a $20 cab ride to get them from the restaurant to the event.

Les Murray, president, Toronto’s Festival of Beer, tells MiC that, although responsible use is a priority for the festival, this is the first time it’s had an official transportation partner.

He says that Hailo was a natural fit for the festival, given that the majority of its visitors live in Toronto or the GTA and rely on public transit or taxis to get to and from the festival.

Toronto’s Festival of Beer runs July 26 to 28 at Bandshell park.
