Numeris overview: New PPM ratings

For all of us who have so much time and energy invested in radio, it is time to take stock of the new numbers. This PPM radio ratings release from Numeris completes the 13-week period covering Dec. 1 2014 to March 1, 2015. Let’s take a look the five PPM markets.

Toronto: Bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap go to CHFI-FM with a 13.6% share of hours tuned for A12+ (up from 13% last time out). CHFI-FM got a bump from their all-Christmas music format in December. The station also takes the #1 spot with women 25 to 54, delivering a 20.7% share (up from 20.6%) followed by CHUM-FM delivering a 19.7% share (up from 17.3%). Q107 holds the #1 spot for men 25 to 54, posting a 9.8% share (down from 11% in the last 13-week book). CHFI-FM leads the way for men 18 to 34 with a 13.5% share. For females 18 to 34, CHFI-FM tops the list, posting a 24% share (up from 23.9%).

Vancouver: Radio One grabs the #1 spot for A12+ with a 14.1% share of hours tuned (up from 12.5% last time out). Taking the top spot for females 25 to 54 was QMFM, posting a 13.8% share (up from 13.5%). Rock101 holds the lead for male listeners 25 to 54, delivering a 10.5% share (up from 9.3%).  The FOX is out in front for men 18 to 34 with an 18.1% share of hours tuned (up from 16.8%). When it comes to females 18 to 34, QM-FM takes top spot with a 13.6% share.

Edmonton: 102.3 NOW! Radio rules the roost for A12+, posting an 11.2% share of hours tuned (down from 12.8%). NOW! Radio takes top spot for women 25 to 54, delivering a 14.5% share (down from 16%), and it also tops the list for men 25 to 54 with a 15.5% share (down from 19.5%). For males 18 to 34, NOW! posted 17.9% share (down from 25.8%).

Calgary: Country 105 leads the way for A12+ with a 10.4% share (down from 10.8%). KISS 95.9 is popular with the ladies, taking the #1 spot for females 25 to 54 and delivering a 15.4% share (up from 12.6%). For men 25 to 54, XL103 is #1 at 11.7% (up from 10.5%). Country 105 takes top spot for men 18 to 34, delivering a 14.7% share followed by CJAY92 at 13%. Country 105 is #1 for women 18 to 34, posting a 28.6% share (up from 23.1%).

Montreal: CHMP 98.5FM is #1 for A12+ with a 16.8% share (down from 18%). CFGL-FM 105.7 Rythme FM is tops with the ladies, taking #1 spot for females 25 to 54 and delivering a 16.8% share (down from 19.4%). For men 25 to 54, CHMP 98.5FM leads the way with a 15.5% share (down from 17.4%). The Beat 92.5 is #1 for men 18 to 34, with a 13.8% share (down from 14.4%).
