For those of us who have spent weeks squinting at tiny numbers, today is the day we see how those numbers add up. The new PPM radio ratings release from Numeris completes the thirteen week period covering March 2 to May 31, 2014. Let’s take a look at the five PPM markets.
Toronto: Bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap, despite a significant decline, go to CHFI-FM with a 9.5% share of hours tuned for A12+ (down from 13.6% last time out). In the previous book, CHFI-FM got a bump from its all Christmas music format in December. CHUM-FM takes the #1 spot with ladies aged 25 to 54, delivering an 18.4% share (down from 19.7%). In a stunning turn of events, BOOM-FM holds the #1 spot for males 25 to 54, posting a 13.8% share (up from 8.8% in the last 13 week book), followed by Q107 at 9.3% (down from 9.8%). BOOM-FM and The Edge are in a dead heat for men 18 to 34 with a 9.8% share. For females 18 to 34, CHUM-FM tops the list posting a 26.3%.
Vancouver: Radio One grabs the #1 spot for A12+ with a 12.4% share of hours tuned (down from 14.1% last time out). Taking the top spot for females 25 to 54 was Z95.3, posting a 12.4% share (up from 10.2% last time out), followed closely by QM-FM at 12.3%. Rock101 holds the lead for male 25 to 54 listeners, delivering an 11.0% share (up from 10.5%). The FOX is out in front for men 18 to 34 with a 22.0% share of hours tuned (up from 18.1%). When it comes to females 18 to 34, Z95.3 takes top spot with a 17.2% share.
Edmonton: 102.3 NOW Radio rules the roost for A12+ posting an 11.1% share of hours tuned (down from 11.2%). NOW! Radio takes top spot for women 25 to 54, delivering a 16.7% share (up from 14.5%). NOW also tops the list for men 25 to 54 with a 15.7% share (up from 15.5%). For men 18 to 34, NOW! posted a 19.1% (up from 17.9%).
Calgary: XL103 leads the way for A12+ with a 10.9% share (up from 8.9%). Country 105 is popular with the ladies, taking #1 spot for females 25 to 54 delivering a 11.3% share (down from 11.5%) followed by XL103 at 11.1%. For men 25 to 54, XL103 is #1 with a 12.4% (up from 11.7%). X92.9 takes top spot for men 18 to 34, delivering a 14.9% share. Country 105 is #1 for women 18 to 34 posting a 16.3% share.
Montreal: CHMP 98.5FM is #1 for A12+ with an 18.4% share (up from 16.8%). CFGL-FM 105.7 Rythme FM is tops with the ladies, taking #1 spot for women 25 to 54 delivering a 17.5% share (up from 16.8 %). For men 25 to 54, CHMP 98.5FM leads the way with a 16.8% share (up from 15.5%). The Beat 92.5 is #1 for men 18 to 34 with a 14.5% share (down from 13.8%).
