Orphan Black premiere doubles on total ratings

The season four opener drew a final audience of 278,000 (2+) to Space, posting a more-than-50% increase on its overnight figures.

The Orphan Black season four opener has drawn a total audience of 278,000 viewers (2+) to Space, according to final Numeris data provided by Bell Media, more than doubling its overnight ratings figures.

The total ratings haul means the episode attracted a 12% audience increase over the season three premiere in the 25-54 demographic.

The dramatic increase in audience figures between overnights (which came in at 131,000 viewers) versus final data once again highlights an increasing disparity between the two methods of audience measurement.

Meanwhile the series after show, After the Black, now in its second season, drew a total audience of 116,000 (2+) in Canada. The post-show series was recently picked up for U.S. broadcast by BBC America. The accompanying hashtag, #AfterTheBlack, also had more than seven million Twitter impressions globally, according to Bell Media, which represents a 150% increase compared to the corresponding after show a year previously.

Orphan Black season four airs on Thursday nights at 10 p.m. on Space.
