CBC Sports has partnered with beIN SPORTS to bring more amateur sports to its platforms this year, broadcasting all 14 IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) Diamond League track and field meets for the 2016 season.
The pubcaster will have live streaming coverage of every meet for the 2016 IAAF Diamond League season on CBCsports.ca, as well as on the CBC Sports app, with TV coverage appearing on the CBC as part of the network’s “Road to the Olympic Games” weekend broadcasts through the season.
The IAAF Diamond League is going into its seventh season, and features the world’s top track and field athletes competing for the Diamond Trophy and a total purse of $8 million (U.S.).
The series includes 32 individual disciplines, with each featured at seven of the 14 meets through the tournament. The 2016 IAAF Diamond League season started on May 6, and will run until Sept. 9, when the final event is held in Brussels.
