QSRs were once again the most active advertisers across Canada’s four biggest TV markets and on specialty networks, according to data from market intelligence firm AdEase for Jan. 16 to 22, in most cases by a significant margin.
That was driven primarily by McDonald’s, which maintained a top-ten position across markets and on specialty networks, though its spot on the list dropped slightly in some cities. Wendy’s and Tim Hortons also maintained strong buys from recent weeks.
Advil also had a big presence, maintaining its spot as the most active TV advertiser in Calgary and Vancouver, while also moving up to third in Toronto. Leon’s also had an impact on the rankings, beginning a new campaign in the top ten in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Furniture retail overall had a big presence, as it was one of the most-active advertiser categories across markets.
On specialty networks, Bell Media heavily promoted CTV, moving it up to the top spot (it was also in the top ten in Toronto and Montreal). P&G also had a significant presence, with its Downy and Tide brands both in the top ten.
