Provincial governments and their agencies had another big week on the radio, according to data from marketing intelligence firm AdEase for Jan. 30 to Feb. 5.
In Toronto and Ottawa, the Government of Ontario and Destination Ontario both had big boosts in radio spending. The tourism board was promoting winter travel destinations within the province, while the government was promoting the fact that pharmacists now have more ability to help treat simple health conditions.
The Government of Quebec also maintained its top spot in Montreal, with the Government of Alberta still number one in both Edmonton and Calgary. In Vancouver, the Government of British Columbia was the seventh-most active radio advertiser (up slightly from ninth the week prior), but the British Columbia Lottery Corporation once again bought the second-most spots in the city.
Elsewhere, Tim Hortons kicked off a new radio push, landing somewhere in the top ten across markets. CTV maintained its spot in the top ten spot across cities. In automotive, the Subaru Dealers Association continued a radio campaign targeting Ontario with the most spots in Ottawa and third-most in Toronto, while the Ford Dealers Association maintained its spots in Calgary and Edmonton.
