It was another week of McDonald’s and its fellow QSRs buying big across Canada, according to AdEase data for the week of March 6 to 12.
McDonald’s once again bought the most TV spots in the Canada’s largest TV markets and nationally specialty, except for Calgary, where it was second behind Tim Hortons for another week.
McDonald’s ads continued to promote its $1 coffee promotion, as well as a partnership with Toronto Raptor Pascal Siakam. Tim Hortons ads were largely behind its “Roll Up To Win” contest, though the buy in Calgary was still largely centred on its flatbread pizzas, which recently launched in Calgary.
Categorically, QSRs were once again the most active buyer across markets and specialty, by a significant margin. In addition to McDonald’s and Tim Hortons, other big TV buyers included Popeye’s, Subway and Wendy’s.
