Ad fraud protection platform Pixalate has released its latest quarterly analysis of SSPs across platforms, and specialized exchanges seem to rank highest in terms of trust.
Pixalate analyzes thousands of transactions to come to determine its quality ratings, assessing them based on things like viewability, fraud, engagement, domain masking and network quality, in compliance with recognized industry standards.
On connected TV, specialist exchange FreeWheel was ranked the highest with a score of 87, just ahead of Magnite (86) and EMX (85). Looking at specific platforms, FreeWheel and Magnite were also at the top for Roku, but Index Exchange and EMX were on the top for Amazon Fire (Index Exchange had an index score of 92 on Fire devices, but an overall score of 78). On Samsung devices, FreeWheel was also at the top, followed by Unruly (with a score of 88 on Samsung devices and 80 overall).
At the bottom of the connected TV list were AdsWizz (47) and Google’s AdExchange (54).
On websites, Sharethrough and Sovrn topped the list, with each getting a score of 87. They were followed by Index Exchange and Yahoo (both with scores of 85) and OpenX (83). At the bottom were AdForm and Yeahmobi (each with a 31).
Google AdExchange, Magnite and EMX ranked much closer on trust when it came to websites, with all three scoring a 76.
On mobile, specialist exchange MobileFuse was ranked highest, earning a trust score of 91. It was followed by BeachFront, OpenX and IronSource, all of which scored an 89. At the bottom of the list was Yeahmobi (46) and LimpidTV (47).
Here, Index Exchange (83), Magnite (81) and Sharethrough (81) managed to pull ahead of Google’s AdExchange (77).
