With warmer weather comes summer menu items, and it leading QSRs to keep up a heavy ad presence on TV, according to media monitoring data from AdEase for the week of May 15 to 21.

QSRs were the most active advertiser category across the four largest TV markets and on national specialty, unchanged from the week prior. Despite McDonald’s being knocked out of the top spot in Toronto by lottery ads, the restaurant was at the top in Calgary and Vancouver, and second in Montreal and on specialty.

Tim Hortons also began a new TV push behind its barbecue menu offerings and summer Sparkling Quenchers drinks. It moved up to fifth most-active in Toronto, third in Calgary and Vancouver and first in Montreal and specialty.

Subaru had a big presence across markets with a new spot behind the latest Ascent model, while Infinti increased the presence behind a masterbrand spot.
