Mobile phone advertisers boost their buys: AdEase Radio

Meanwhile, Ford enters the ranks of Canada's most active radio advertisers.

The list of most-active radio advertisers in Canada stayed relatively unchanged last week, according to media monitoring data from AdEase for Aug. 7 to 13, but restaurants were no longer the dominant category.

After months of a commanding lead – often by a significant margin – QSRs were bumped to the second spot, displaced by mobile phone services. Virgin Plus and Mobile Klinik both had significant buys last week behind their new campaigns.

McDonald’s was once again the most active individual advertiser, with Virgin Plus holding on to third and Spence Diamonds once again fourth. But the Ford Dealers Association jumped into second as it continued to support the F-150 pickup, in addition to bringing a new campaign for its Escape SUV to Toronto.

Moving up a spot to fifth, Bell promoted a range of different things in its portfolio, including its Fibe internet services. But it is also putting support behind a campaign for the CTV news app as Meta begins removing content from Canadian news outlets from its platforms.
