Subaru was the most active TV advertiser in Canada last week, according to media monitoring data from AdEase for Oct. 2 to 8.

The automaker edged out McDonald’s with continued support for the “Uncommon Stories” masterbrand campaign, as well as an ad for for the Crosstrek SUV.

In second, McDonald’s continued to focus its TV buy on ads for this year’s Monopoly promotion. Bounce held on to third with a campaign for its pet-focused dryer sheets, while Leon’s and The Brick moved into fourth and fifth, respectively, with ads for their latest sale events.

Categorically, QSRs were once again the most active TV advertiser, roughly doubling the amount of ads ran by furniture stores, which had the second-most. Other than McDonald’s, there were significant buys from Wendy’s and A&W, as well as new campaigns from Tim Hortons (promoting this year’s line of NHL trading cards) and Domino’s (for a mix-and-match pizza promotion).
