Spence Diamonds has kicked off April by increasing its buying on radio and topping AdEase’s ranking of the week’s most active advertisers.
According to the latest monitoring firm data, the jeweller totaled 4,220 combined occurrences from April 1 to 7, while the previous week it scored 3,328 occurrences. The retailer placed second in Vancouver and Edmonton, fourth in Ottawa, sixth in Calgary, and eighth in Toronto. Toyota dealers, who dominated the radio market the week prior, came in second place with 3,393 total occurrences, followed by Subaru dealers (3,031 occurrences) and the Government of Alberta (2,494 occurrences).
Several advertisers joined the AdEase top 10 during the first week of April. Among them are Hot Tub Swim Spa Blowout Expo, which ranked sixth in Vancouver; Basement Systems, which placed tenth in the same market, and Sico, which finished ninth in Calgary. Also, trailer dealer No Bull RV Sales entered the Edmonton ranking in ninth position, while Koodo Wireless appeared for the first time in tenth place in Toronto.
On the category side, the highest-spending groups were automotive imports general, QSRs and local government. The categories that rose the most in the rankings were consumer property and casualty insurance, which climbed 136 places to tenth in Toronto, and airlines, which moved up 237 spots to seventh in Montreal.
