As former Chum Television exec Roma Khanna chooses her team at MGM Television Group, Susan Hummel has been promoted to SVP of Canadian TV and US basic cable.

Hummel will oversee the sale of MGM TV product to Canadian broadcasters, including pay, digital, conventional TV and specialty channels.

She was most recently MGM’s SVP of North American TV distribution and VP of Canadian TV distribution.

Khanna was installed as president of MGM Television Group and Digital in June after the Hollywood studio restructured under MGM co-chairmen and CEOs Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum.

Khanna was most recently president of Universal Networks international and digital initiatives at NBCUniversal, and before that served as SVP, content and co-head of Chum Television, where she oversaw the Citytv and A networks as well as a slew of specialty channels.
