McDonald’s Canada boosted its already significant radio buys, according to Media Monitors data for Aug. 2 to 8, buying the most radio ads in Toronto and second-most in Montreal last week.
With Subway landing in the top ten in Toronto and Montreal as well, QSRs were the most active radio advertisers by category in both markets.
The remainder of the top ten advertisers in Toronto were relatively unchanged, with Goodfood, Belairdirect, Telus and LCBO maintaining their big buys from last week. Wireless carriers slid into the number two spot by category, with public service organizations increasing their buys.
In Montreal, Belairdirect made a significant buy as well, landing in fourth behind auto dealer network Spinelli, a new entrant to the top ten this week. Categorically, governments and public service ads took the second and third place spots, with buys relatively unchanged from last week.
