There was not a lot of change on the radio last week, according to media monitoring data from AdEase for June 19 to 25.

McDonald’s was once again the most active radio advertiser by a significant margin, taking the top spot across markets with ads for its summer drink offers and breakfast menu. Toyota, Nissan, Spence Diamonds, Hudson’s Bay and Desjardins all also maintained relatively similar positions from recent weeks.

There were a few areas of movement, however. Captial One, for example, began a new campaign as the ninth-most active advertiser nationally.

Real Canadian Superstore had a modest increase in ads across markets. That, along with Calgary Co-Op boosting its home town buy and Freshco starting a new buy in Edmonton, helped grocery stores become the third-most active advertiser category nationally (behind QSRs and automakers).
