TBWAVancouver wins CBCF project

The win includes media buying and planning for an awareness campaign for the BC/Yukon arm of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, for launch in 2010.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has awarded TBWAVancouver a project to produce an awareness campaign for its BC/Yukon region division.

The project will target at women 18 to 25, and will launch in early 2010. It was awarded to the agency Nov. 24 following a pitch process. Strategic planning, social media strategy, creative development, production and media planning and buying are all part of the project’s scope.

‘We are excited to be working with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation,’ Andrea Southcott, president, TBWAVancouver, said in a release. ‘They set forth an interesting challenge: to reach an audience that is typically not included in breast cancer awareness campaigns. Our team pulled together some great ideas, and we look forward to seeing them come to life.’

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is a national, volunteer-based charity. Its primary fundraising mechanism is the annual CIBC Run for the Cure, which the organization says is the largest single-day, volunteer-led fundraising event in Canada.
