As cold begins to blanket the country, the radio landscape is heating up with the latest PPM radio ratings. Today’s radio release from BBM completes the 13-week period covering Aug. 29 to Nov. 27. This marks the ninth 13-week period in the new era of measurement for Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.  Let’s take a look at some of the numbers.

Toronto: Bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap go to CHFI-FM with a 13% share of hours tuned for A12+ (up from 12.6% last time out). CHFI-FM remains #1 with the ladies 25-54, posting a 17.3% share (up from 16.5%) followed by CHUM-FM with a 16.6% share (up from 15.7%). Q107 is, once again, on top for males 25-54, posting a 12.4% share (flat with the same percentage in the last 13-week book).  The Edge holds a substantial edge over the competition with M18-34 turning in a 20.4% share (up from 17.9 %). For F18-34, CHFI-FM tops the list, posting an 18.9% share (up from 15.4%) followed by CHUM-FM with a 14.4% (up from 13.3%) share of hours tuned.

Vancouver: CKNW holds the #1 spot for A12+ with an 11% share of hours tuned (down from 11.5% last time out). Taking the top spot for F25-54 was perennial office station favourite 103.5QM-FM, posting a 14.7% share (up from 14.3%). The Beat holds the lead with M25-54 listeners, delivering a 9.5% share (down from 11.1%).  The FOX leaps to the top of the list for M18-34 with 17.1% share of hours tuned (up from 11%) followed by the Beat’s 16.1% (down from 19.2%). When it comes to females 18-34, the Beat takes top spot with a 16.7% share (down from 17%).

Edmonton: 630 CHED rules the roost for A12+ posting a 10.1% share of hours tuned (down from 10.2% last time out). 102.3 NOW! Radio takes top spot for F25-54, delivering a 12.6% share (up from 11.7%). NOW! also tops the list for M25-54 with a 12.9% share (up from 12.4%), followed by The Bear at 10.6% (up from 10.3%). For M18-34, 102.3 NOW is out in front delivering a 15.3% share (up from 13.6%), followed by Sonic 102.9 with a 15.3% share (down from 16.9%).

Calgary: QR77 leads the way for A12+ with a 10.4% share (up from 8.9%). Country 105 is popular with the ladies, taking the #1 spot for F25-54, delivering a 12.8% share (up from 12.5%), followed closely by 98.5 Virgin at 12.7% (up from 10.6%). For M25-54, CJA92 leads the way with a 10.2% share (up from a 9.5%) followed by Q107 with 10% (up from 8.5%). CJAY92 takes top spot for M18-34, posting a 12.4% share (up from 11.9%).
