CanadaOne gets in the Canoe

Small-business website CanadaOne has partnered with Canoe Money.

CanadaOne.com, a website aimed at small businesses, and news and information network Canoe.ca have teamed up. The site, which features short articles and tools geared to entrepreneurs, will now carry the Canoe.ca toolbar. Canoe will handle Canadaone.com‘s ad sales, previously dealt with by 24/7 Real Media, and Canoe Money will carry content from CanadaOne.

The strategy of the co-branding is to provide more in-depth small-business coverage on the Canoe Money site, as well as increasing traffic. Canoe Money receives 393,000 unique monthly visitors, while Canadaone.com receives 35,000.

According to Zunaid Khan, director of strategic alliances at Canoe, there will not be any incentives offered to advertise on both sites since Canadaone has no trouble selling out its advertising. ‘There are a lot of advertisers trying to reach small businesses,’ Khan explains. Previous advertisers on have included credit card companies, UPS and Allstream. Banks and credit card companies are the prevalent advertisers on Canoe Money.
