More than 7.3 million Canadians tuned in to Super Bowl XLV Sunday night on CTV and RDS, a new Canadian TV audience record for the NFL championship game.
National overnight ratings released Monday by BBM Canada revealed Sunday’s audience was 5% up on the then record number of Canadians who watched 2010’s Super Bowl.
CTV’s broadcast of Super Bowl XLV averaged 6.54 million viewers.
After the Green Bay Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers to capture the Super Bowl trophy, CTV snagged another 1.32 million viewers for Flashpoint, which started airing at 10:19 p.m.
Another 2.16 million viewers tuned in to a simulcast of Fox’s Glee on Global Television, which started airing at 10:38 p.m.
