Marketing agency AdFarm has hired three new media execs to lead its agriculture media planning and buying efforts in Canada and the US.
Recently, AdFarm, which has offices in Calgary, Guelph, Kansas City, MO, and Fargo, ND, decided to bring all media functions in-house.
‘Media hasn’t been in-house for the past several years, so I’m starting from scratch to build the media department,’ says Angie Skochdopole, director of media, who will head the overall media discipline that includes the planning and buying efforts for AdFarm’s US clients. She adds that this allows for ‘more integration with the other departments within the agency and closer relationships with the clients – those are the key things.’
Skochdopole, who was recently with Quarry Integrated Communications (with offices in North Carolina and Waterloo), has worked in agriculture media for more than 20 years, including media planning for major agricultural companies in the US and Canada such as DuPont Crop Protection, Novartis Animal Health and Eden BioScience.
Skochdopole says that target market is no different than general consumers – they too use the Internet and can be reached on their mobile phones.
Another veteran in agriculture media, Dave Kington, is now in charge of Adfarm’s Canadian clients, including Bayer CropScience Canada. Kington, who most recently has been performing media services independently, was previously with agencies AdCulture and Osborn and Barr. He has worked with the producers, manufacturers and retailers of crop protection, animal health and seed products, and is now based in AdFarm’s Guelph office.
Also hired is Lisa Adams, who is responsible for media planning and buying for both Canadian and US clients. Her agri experience includes Dow AgroSciences, Alberta Beef Producers, American Hereford Association and Brandt, though most recently she has worked as an independent.
