New HGTV series pushes petals

Floral designers are raised to celebrity status with an inside look at the drama behind the art.

Petal Pushers, the latest reality series launching on HGTV, sees high-profile floral designer and event architect Karina Lemke (Rich Bride Poor Bride) join the net’s roster of celebrity chefs and interior designers. The series follows Lemke and her boutique’s eclectic design team as they deal with a clientele whose requests range from quirky to near-impossible. The demo for this is skewed female, early 20s.

Over 13 episodes airing Mondays at 10:30, viewers will get an inside look at how Posies Flower Shop creates masterpieces for weddings, fashion shows, fundraising events, ballet recitals, Bat Mitzvahs and bachelor auctions. The first episode, ‘Ho, Ho, Ho,’ airing Dec. 29 at 10:30 pm ET/7:30 pm PT, highlights what’s involved in beautifying both the indoors and outdoors for the holiday season.

As part of the show’s educational component, viewers get a behind-the-scenes look at the planning that goes into large-scale events, and are led through the team’s design and set-up work with useful tips about flowers.
