The highly anticipated Season 7 of Fox’s 24 is back on Global’s prime-time sched, and this time the simulcast is complemented with multi-platform digital components including online, video-on-demand (VOD) and mobisode content features.
The two-night, four-hour premiere begins Jan. 11 at 8 pm ET, concluding on Jan. 12 at 8 pm ET. Subsequent eps of 24 will broadcast Mondays at 9pm ET, starting Jan. 19.
The expanded platform includes online streaming rights for full-length episodes from 24 season 7, available the next day following the network broadcast at www.globaltv.com, VOD access to the latest episodes of 24 available free-of-charge through Rogers-On-Demand, and 120 mobisodes for viewers on the go, currently housed at www.watch24now.com, and also accessible through web-enabled mobile devices.
The mobisodes, said to be first of their kind in Canada, are two-minute clips summarizing the twists and turns of each episode, seasons 1 through 5. Mobile debriefs from season 6 (up to four minutes in length) detailing key plot lines are also part of the mix. Five debriefs have been created in anticipation of the new season launch.
A special encore presentation of the two-hour movie event 24: Redemption airs Jan. 4, 2009 on Global at 8 pm.
