BMO starts podcast dialogue with students

BMO Bank of Montreal helps recent grads 'make sense of it all' with money-management tips and financial info.

In light of a recent Harris/Decima survey revealing that new grads are goal-oriented, BMO Bank of Montreal launched a student-focused Head of the Class podcast on its website and on Apple iTunes to help its young clients ‘make sense of it all.’

Lesley Scorgie, author of Rich by Thirty: A Young Adult’s Guide to Financial Success and founder of financial consultancy company Rich by Inc., hosts the first podcast and addresses questions that matter to students, such as debt management, money-saving and money-management tips and Canada’s current economic climate. The podcast is also posted on www.richbythirty.com.

The survey, commissioned by BMO, revealed that 71% of the sample cited paying off student debt as the top priority, while 62% think saving for a down payment on a condo or house is an important focus.

BMO is also attracting post-secondary students by offering free student banking, a student line of credit and the BMO SPC Mosaik MasterCard, as well as one year of free banking after graduation.
