Pepsi mobile push paying off

In just over four days since launch, Pepsi's ad effort on BlackBerry app The Hockey News Mobile, including a contest for must-have NHL tickets, is a high scorer.

The recently launched Pepsi ad campaign with The Hockey News Mobile BlackBerry app is already buzzing with 100,000 impressions and 1,000 click-throughs.

Part of a bigger campaign with the National Hockey League, users can enter to win free tickets to the 2009 NHL Winter Classic, 2009 NHL All-Star Game and the 2009 Stanley Cup Final, and also receive $500 spending cash just by clicking on the Pepsi banners and receiving an email explaining contest details.

Toronto-based mobile solution provider Polar Mobile customized the campaign for mobile, handled the creative and the banners. Gaurav Jain, VP of business development at Polar Mobile adds that Polar suggested three different creatives because campaigns with a variety of banners receive better click-through rates.

The Hockey News Mobile, also developed by Polar Mobile, has experienced over 13,000 downloads since launch last month.
