The cult hit from BBC America will resume its alien-fighting attempt to save humanity on Space in mid-August.

The second season of the sci-fi thriller-drama Torchwood will kick off on Space with two back-to-back episodes on August 8 at 9 pm, after which it will resume its regular 10 pm time slot on August 15.

From the creators of BBC’s science fiction series Doctor Who, the cult hit focuses on a team of agents led by Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman, pictured) as they try to protect humanity from dastardly aliens. The show also stars Eve Myles (Doctor Who), Burn Gorman (Bleak House) and Naoko Mori (Absolutely Fabulous).
